Krish Wins 2022 Data Center Personality Award at BoICT Awards

Dr. Krishnan Ranganath, a global senior executive specializing in data center operations and other business areas, won the Data Center Personality of the Year award at the Beacon of Information and Communications Technology Awards, held by Communication Week Media Limited, publishers of Communications Week Nigeria.

Dr. Krishnan Ranganath, who is currently the Chief Technology Officer of Africa Data Centers, one of Africa’s largest networks of interconnected, carrier-neutral and cloud-based data center facilities, was announced at the annual awards ceremony in Lagos.

Declaring the winner, the organizer described Dr. Krishnan Ranganath as an articulate and resilient professional, who has been instrumental in setting up and managing multiple networks and data centers across geographies with a proven track record in monitoring cash inflows and outflows and ensuring optimal use of available funds for the achievement of the organization’s objectives.

“We are happy to have Dr. Krishnan Ranganath as Data Center Personality of the Year,” the organizer announced when presenting the award plaque to Dr. Krishnan Ranganath.

On receiving the award, Dr. Krish noted that the award was an incentive for him to help his current employer become the first pan-African operator of large-scale, vendor- and operator-independent data centers. , after announcing a new 10MW facility in the region, the first of four faculties planned for Nigeria.

“Africa Data Centers plans include building an additional facility in Lagos at a separate location to provide full disaster recovery and backup, while Abuja and Port Harcourt have been reserved for their facilities. I believe this award will further motivate me to contribute massively to this plan,” he said.

Krish, as he fondly addressed in the Nigerian ICT space, is a senior executive with over 2 decades of experience in global markets, working with various multinationals in emerging markets. He has worked with various IT/ITES and telecom players for various large and very large projects, managing large and disparate teams in various regions and time zones.

Besides having been instrumental in setting up and managing multiple networks and data centers across geographies, he has a footprint across Africa having worked and delivered projects in over 18 countries. on the continent.

With core skills in strategic planning, project management, business development, relationship management, turnaround management, working capital management, product management, cost reduction strategies, PPP projects, effective interpersonal skills, and project management. team, he has also proven himself in monitoring the inflow and outflow of funds and ensuring optimal use of the funds available for the achievement of the objectives of the organization.

He is currently Chief Technology Officer at Africa Data Centers, responsible for operations in West Africa. During his long career since 1992, he has been associated with various organizations across APAC, GCC and Africa.

Available reports indicate that he has the professional ambition to build the largest data center in Africa.
