Negri companies get green light to buy vaccines for workers
NILAI: Industries and private companies in Negri Sembilan will soon be able to purchase Covid-19 vaccines for their workers, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
He said the private company J&E Advance Tech Sdn Bhd had obtained approval from the Ministry of Health and the Special Committee to ensure access to the supply of Covid-19 vaccines to purchase the vaccines and sell them to companies that wish to vaccinate their workers.
The state government, he said, had also approved this and would call the program “NS Sejahtera”.
“The company will purchase the vaccines from Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd and offer them to industries, small and medium-sized businesses and state enterprises.
“This program is voluntary and companies will have to bear the cost,” he said.
Aminuddin said companies willing to participate may soon get more information and register at www.nssejahtera.com.my.
He said data from those vaccinated under NS Sejahtera would be incorporated into the national MySejahtera database.
Aminuddin said the first vaccination center under NS Sejahtera would be at Dewan Ube in the Nilai 3 industrial zone.
He said more centers would be opened in other areas if there was a demand.
Prior to that, several industries in the state had approached the state government for help in vaccinating their workers.
We learn that companies employing a total of 30,000 workers have approached state authorities and indicated their willingness to pay for vaccines.
